Hunt Auctions and Raffle

At the 2010 MBA convention, we will be raffling off one hunt, as well as having two live auctions – one for the 10 day South Africa hunt with Matlabas Game Hunters, and one for a five day Red Stag Hunt in New Zealand with Glenroy Hunting Lodge.

Kutawagan Outfitters Bear Hunt, Saskatchewan

The raffled hunt will be a spring bear hunt with Kutawagan Outfitters! This is a six day guided Saskatchewan Black Bear Hunt, with a $2,800 value. The hunt will take place north of Choiceland, and is an easy drive from Montana! The raffle tickets are on sale for $30 each.

Kutawagan has been succesfully guiding bear hunters for 19+ years!

Matlabas Game Hunters – South Africa

Seven day bow hunt for plains game by one hunter and one non-hunter in the Bushveldt region, Limpopo province, South Africa (day of arrival and departure included).

This is a seven day plains game hunt for one hunter and one non-hunter in the malaria-free Matlabas Bushveldt, Limpopo province, South Africa. This hunt is available in 2009, and must be undertaken on a mutually agreed date between 15 March and 15 October. Includes trophy fees for one impala or one warthog.

This is a bowhunt and may be upgraded for additional species, or extended for additional days, as per current price list which is published on the website. Species to be hunted during this hunt include Southern Greater Kudu, Waterbuck, Gemsbok, Nyala, Cape Eland, Red Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Bush Duiker, Steenbok, Impala, Warthog, Southern Giraffe, Plains Zebra. This is one of South Africa’s prime bowhunting destinations. The success rate is high and the trophy quality is outstanding. Matlabas Game Hunters is one of a relative small number of African outfitters specializing in bowhunting exclusively. Hunting is done from elevated blinds, pit blinds, ground level blinds, tree stands or by way of “walk-and-stalk.”

Accommodation is provided at Matlabas Game Lodge. The meals are mostly traditional South African Bushveldt cuisine and venison is regularly served. The lodge consists of 4 thatched rooms, a rondavel and 2 en suite Meru type safari tents. Other features include a separate lounge with satellite TV, a unique wildlife and natural history video library, swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen, daily cleaning services and a laundry service. Basic toiletries and towels are provided.

Red Stag Hunt in New Zealand with Glenroy Hunting Lodge

Our next live auctioned hunt comes from us by a donation from Brent Hunsucker, MBA Region 2 Representative from Florence. Brent won this trip by outbidding the competition at the 2009 MBA Convention, and now finds that he would rather raise some money for the MBA than go himself.

This hunt is for Red Stag in New Zealand, and includes a five day hunt for one hunter and one non-hunter with Glenroy Hunting Lodge. All accommodations are included The hunt is for one Red Stag up to 300 inches, SCI., and other game is available. This hunt must be taken in 2010, between April and July.

Glenroy Hunting Lodge, New Zealand

An added attraction is complimentary small game, such as hare, rabbit and opossums, while there is excellent fishing for rainbow and brown trout in nearby rivers, Lake Hayes and Lake Wakatipu.
